Red Fox Visits Wildlife Garden

My friend Karyn Greenstreet sent me these photographs via the Show Off Your Wildlife Garden feature here at Ecosystem Gardening. I’m kind of jealous that she sees this fox on a regular basis right in her backyard!

Wildlife Garden attracts Red Fox

Mr. Fox is out and about again today in our garden. Twice he’s tried hunting squirrels at the bird feeder – unsuccessfully. You can’t be red on white snow, run full-tilt for 20 yards, and expect the squirrels not to notice you.

We’d love to see the amazing wildlife that visits your backyard habitat, too. Use the Show Off Your Wildlife Garden page to let us see what you’ve got

  1. I’ve never seen a fox in our fields, althuogh they are around. We have coyotes, but usually we only hear them. When the grandchildren are here we always remember to listen when the noon whistle goes of in our neighboring town – the coyotes always answer back.

    Very cool Karyn & Carole!

We have a red fox that wanders by occasionally. I either it or the always interesting tracks (in the snow).

I certainly like the fox way better than the two skunks that frequently visit our all-they-can-eat bird food buffet :)

    But, it’s all good!
