Philadelphia Flower Show

Today I’m off to see the Philadelphia Flower Show.

While I have many mixed views of the show, mostly relating to sustainability, waste, landfill use, and consumption, I am also thrilled that my best friend, Bill Schaffer, AIFD of Schaffer Designs has won “Best in Show” (yes, I’m aware that’s not the actual name of the prize, but hey, I’m a dog person) for his Polar Fantasy exhibit.

So today I’m just going to enjoy my friends success. Congratulations Bill!

Update: Bill has found ways to repurpose this entire set, so no landfill activity for him. Gotta love this guy!

Also, what do you think of judges who have no idea what flowers they are looking at? Seems like a pretty bad idea to me…..

Update #2: Bill Schaffer has taken the top prizes at the 2011 Philadelphia Flower Show
