I don't know about Philadelphia, but here in Toronto I would say the prime flowering season is so short I wouldn't want to waste time in the convention centre when I could be outside! Our winters are so long that by this time I'm desparate for flowers. I don't know how many of the flowers at these shows are grown locally; but there are Ontario greenhouse-grown flowers all year round, I would assume the same is the case in Pennsylvania?

I'm really having trouble with this idea of a flower show being held at a time of year when there are NO flowers in the local area. So, every single piece of greenery and all the flowers must have been shipped in from somewhere more tropical? Of course I'm sure the idea is to get people excited about gardening so that they are ready to buy as spring approaches. But somehow it seems all wrong. Flower shows in the UK are in the summer when all the flowers are in bloom.
