Happy Solstice

Winter Bird House

Solstice Birdhouse

Today marks the first day of winter and the longest night of the year. I for one, am thrilled that the days will be getting longer. More light is always welcome!

To me this season is a time of quiet and planning; a preparation for the rebirth and regeneration of spring. A time to tend to our roots, to reach and to grow.

To all of you who read, comment, and participate here at Ecosystem Gardening, I am so grateful for your support, and want to thank each and every one of you who encourage me to keep writing.

Happy Solstice to all of you!

Carol and Alison: Thanks. I love to spend time at this season “tending my roots” which means in part looking at where I’ve been and at where I want to go.

Happy Solstice and Merry Christmas to you both!
