Today marks the first day of winter and the longest night of the year. I for one, am thrilled that the days will be getting longer. More light is always welcome!
To me this season is a time of quiet and planning; a preparation for the rebirth and regeneration of spring. A time to tend to our roots, to reach and to grow.
To all of you who read, comment, and participate here at Ecosystem Gardening, I am so grateful for your support, and want to thank each and every one of you who encourage me to keep writing.
Happy Solstice to all of you!

You are so right Carole, winter is a wonderful time to take stock, plan our path forward, and be ready for new growth in both the garden and our lives.
Happy Winter and Happy Holidays to you and all your readers

Carol and Alison: Thanks. I love to spend time at this season “tending my roots” which means in part looking at where I’ve been and at where I want to go.
Happy Solstice and Merry Christmas to you both!
